Ome Omar is momenteel druk bezig met het opnemen van zijn debuutalbum getiteld 'Oerknal'. Het album zal volledig geproduceerd worden door het Amsterdamse producersduo RareVillains. Oerknal zal op dezelfde dag uitkomen als Ome Omar zijn gelijknamige debuutroman. Het boek zal worden uitgegeven door Lebowski Publishers/ Topnotch.




"Oerknal vertelt het verhaal van een half-fictieve Omar, die criminele klussen klaart met zijn buurtgenoten terwijl hun slechte sociale positie voortdurend onderwerp van gesprek is. In het verhaal probeert Omar met veel moeite een boek neer te pennen. Op absurde wijze wordt de lezer onderwezen over de straatjongerencultuur door een cultureel betrokken straatjongere, die hem constant op het verkeerde been zet door de absurdistische humor waarmee 'Ome' Omar groot is geworden in het schrijfcircuit. Qua eenvoud en directheid had de roman een kinderboek kunnen zijn, ware het niet dat er uitermate veel geweld, seks en verheerlijking van criminaliteit in voorkomt..."

Patta x Asics Gel Saga Release

Last Thursday with off and on rain and an abnormally warm December morning, Patta released their latest collaboration with Asics. A good sized crowd of people turned out to try and get a pair of the Patta x Asics Gel Saga. Some camped for two days and there was a healthy line at 10 am, 2 hours before Patta opened. People came from near by cities in the Netherlands as well as from Germany, Poland and other countries to get a pair.

The vibe was good and team Patta was in good sprits. Look to find these Patta x asics Gel Saga releasing in limited numbers at select asics retailers through out europe this week. Special thanks to Team Patta and the guys over at asics for making this happen.

Is Jay-Z Profiting from Occupy Wall Street?

In what surely seems like a a cruel joke, it’s being reported by Business Insider that Jay-Z is going to potentially be profiting off of the Occupy Wall Street protest that has captured the heart of the 99 percent. Through his Rocawear clothing imprint, Jay has plastered the Occupy Wall Street message on a T-shirt that’s currently available for pre-order via the brand’s website. Thus far, there are no plans of distributing any of the earnings from it to the movement that he’s capitalizing off of. As a member of the top 1 percent, it seems like Jay-Z’s 99 problems involve the other 99 percent. What do you guys think, should Jay-Z be profiting from a movement that is looking to expose the disparity between rich and poor?
